Newmont Boddington Gold hosts delegation of global sustainability leaders

Newmont Boddington Gold today hosted a delegation of sustainability leaders representing the International Council on Mining & Metals (ICMM), an organization committed to enhancing sustainable development performance in the mining and metals industry.

As a founding member of the ICMM and Australia’s largest gold miner, Newmont has been selected to be on the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for seven consecutive years. 

Aidan Davy, ICMM’s Deputy President said the visit to Newmont Boddington Gold is testament to ICMM members’ commitment to the development and application of international good practice.

“Mining has its unique environmental and social challenges, many of them shared across commodities,” said Mr. Davy.Site visits, such as today’s, are a critical input to the development of global good practice through shared knowledge.
